how they all vanish the meaningless

A thousand seconds a borrowed life

A promise, a gun and a bullet

Wandering in the dark
without a latern or candle
where will you go?

Walking blind and blindfolded
without any plan
when will you find...

This is the final, all is a ticking
wounds are gone then,
what are you picking?

A trillion moments into your movements: brainwashed thinking nothing.

As I step out to this new world,
where fascination and fear takes ahold,
did we really stray from the road?

After this tragic fall, our souls are sold,
Begun is the lethal movement for drastic change considered so bold,
This is our just reward,
In the name of revolution and change.

As I step out of this new world,
thinking if our lives have changed for better or worse,
seeing the same depressing scene over and over,
finally knowing we csn no longer save ourselves.

From our own supposed mistakes and lack of control,
to deal with our selves and emotions,
our actions with causes and effects,
knowing how destructive we will forever be, despite our ways.

Neon lights and dizzying heights,
sleepless nights and many sights,
a city truly awakened by the night and the moon.
pulsing like an exited heart after a couple of shocks,
the lighted city will never sleep until the stop of its many clocks,
and the sound of many closing locks.

the armies of both sides are claimed,
and whisked away.
Today.
Useful turned useless junk is collapsing into further waste,
the meaty army ants get fixed,
but their hearts and minds remain in stitches.
A star falls from the sky,
to go back it can never fly; to help a dying friend it had to lie.
When it fell from the sky,
it thought it was surely going to die.

The figure she recognized as Master Skoll with the upright hairstyle and the in-built knuckle dusters that was actually his lengthened attack claws in their shorter and concealed form seated himself comfortably in the Dean's chair near his desk. He was patiently waiting for Ashtoreth's attention to swing his way, leaving her to survey the spectacle. She saw what had really happened; The Dean, tiring as he was, was still in the same room and seated in the same seat as before, only moved out of the way. Time had frozen, it was obviously the Lord of Flames' doing, who appeared where he wanted and when he wanted, out of the blue. A part of the girl wanted to make a run for it, but a part of her mind told her to stay for the sake of obeying a Master, although not her own that she was bound to. She turned to meet the eerily patient Master's gaze.

“No. What is your purpose of being here?” hearing her asking a question whilst leaving out the honorific made him itch on the inside, but not enough to give him the urge to beat her senseless immediately. The poppet should be very lucky this time that I'm not feeling so... temperamental. he thought viciously. Without warning, he instantly appeared behind the bold girl, still seated in the Vassar chair, making a perfect impression of a seated porcelain doll in front of him.

“So, he decided to send you here, did he?” the heat radiating from the Lord of Flames made her feel very uncomfortable as he came closer to her and gently rested his hands on her shoulders from behind, making her shrink away further into the leather chair she sat in. She mediated against not telling him the answer to avoid being punished or interrogated in front of a bewildered teacher if the frozen moment in time around them both became unglued. Any more of this already unbearable heat and I will vaporize into nothing!

“Yes, he has made the final decision to send me here into this unhinged University without telling me why I was sent here before he had left me.” Ashtoreth responded as he thought she would as Master Skoll leaned over her right shoulder a little and talked low into her ear.

“Really? It sounds as if he has already forsaken you, little one.” he said mockingly and smiled inwardly at the university neophyte's dilemma, knowing what would happen if her first Master died or went missing. All he is spouting is nothing but empty lies! Ashtoreth shoved her anger

for his ways far away and grudgingly tranquillized herself in his presence, letting the heat originating from the Master leaning forward behind the chair seep within her, despite being well-informed about staying near him for far too long. Poor thing, first she is Bound to him and then abandoned in an obscure university. What to do... already, the thought of helping her in more than one way emerged to him in his mind, many of the dark plans involved a forced Bonding and a takeover; easy in theory, but quite difficult in practice. the incandescence sweeping her started to play havoc with her alertness, prompting her to gradually fall asleep. She struggled to slip out of his grip; the more she exerted herself, the more useless it became to fight against it. He looked knowingly at the quiet girl who was progressively translating into steam as their opposing elements noiselessly fought for dominance over one another, causing the room to fill up with mist. Master Skoll turned back to her, looking her in the eye that constantly burned and cast a crimson hue into the dim, misty room, not bothering to record her responses and actions in the somewhat broken conversation they were having with each other.

“Unfortunately, little one, I don't have the answer to your question that you seek, I just came here to see that this place doesn't give you nightmares and I don't have to resort to tucking you in during your bedtime.” She absolutely hated being treated like a child by the Lord of the Conflagration. The usually sarcastic and ill tempered Master noted the tight curling of her hands into fists, still resting on the arms of the chair. The Verona clock housed in the room kept on ticking away due to the logical fact that contained time cannot be frozen, even by Masters who understood the art of manipulating the very hours, minutes and seconds surrounding them. He studied the clock briefly and released his hold on the seated young lady. Ashtoreth expected him to leave immediately, only to find her eyes trailing to see one fiery eye meet her own glacial eyes with a look of mild petulance.

“The next time you speak to me, poppet, I expect you to have some respect. If not, it's back to the The Room for you.” she nodded to him and ignored the empty threat; he wouldn't dare drag her to that horrid place right here and now.

“Of course.” repeating the same mistake as before and making him twitch was too easy for a person such as her to do. she watched with a straight face as his face closed up on her.

“I beg your pardon?”he hissed. She could feel the warmness returning as his temper started to climb. Ashtoreth stared him back in return and breathed deeply to take her mind off the agitation.

“Yes, Master.” she intoned solemnly, agreeing to both his wishes and her Master's own before aggravating him any further and to avoid a statement being received from one Master to another for her disrespect. She is starting to get it right finally... about bloody time! Master Skoll smiled at the thought of her being obedient towards him for once in her life.

“Good.” and with that last word in their wordy exchange, he disappeared in a lighting of a violent flame and blinked out of the room, leaving time to start its mysterious flow anew.

with its many doubts and ruminations,
of things that be, of things that come.
It is here, glowing; the tiny spark of despair,
never noticed until now,
the darkness so profound and thick,
no lantern could navigate and maneuver.
No hope, no matter big or small lift this,
for it seems too late to turn back.

angry shouts.

Technology over the hands
silicon over the heart
pricey plastic over what really matters.

Live life rich
die before your poor
born real slow
die real fast.

Walking through the junk jungle
glitz and glam above
ugliness beneath
seeing plastic birds obscure the vision.

Dark and darkness fall,
red, red fall.
like the blazing trees and leaves.

Sweet, sweet fall,
bloody ruby landscapes,
terror screaming wind,
full of pleas.

Fall has come,
darkness consumes,
summer is fading,
light is gone.

Fear in place of happiness remain,
blackened bark of the flaming trees,
turns to ashes and decorates hopelessly,
in the cry filled wind,
now still.

Pools of red nourish the ruby leaf scattering trees,
in the eerie quiet.

Stand alone because you can and you will,
stand alone because there's nobody else,
stand alone; that's all that you are.

You watch them group together,
watch them fall domino in the loneliness.

The colors black, white and grey,
fall away,
into obscurity.

Need no help,
because you know what to do,
there's no one greater than you in what you do,
because that's true.

This is nothing but a shell,
this complex thing, not understandable.

A cloak that covers everything we see,
the wool over our eyes that says,
"ignorance is bliss".

Stand alone after everything blows away,
nothing but a false calm blankets this.

bloodied blades
height so tall

kill them all

Three feet tall

four thorned arms
the killing embrace

Raining now
slowly down
like rose petals
of deep red
like it's eyes
the gleam of rubies
struck by light
controller of time
disappears
out of sight.

I wish I could shut all the doors and be alone in the quiet

begging for the attention of my eyes and mind.

Pages that take myself from one world to another,
exposes the secrets of the world unknown,
give me shelter that I stay in for awhile,
shielded from the cold and colorless world around me.

. . . With the words and pages that is you, take me away.

weaving mysterious and intricate patterns in the form of symbols;
from the malleable minds and warm flesh of the living.

Finely balancing delicate order and unbreakable chaos,
as they go through the heart of the world and into the hearts of many.

Giving dreams and exchanging nightmares,
changing lives of man, woman and child alike,
Granting forbidden desires and secret wishes.

Walking in the world with the vessel of one,
yet seeing through the eyes of many people, experiencing the future facing forward; unknown to all who exist.

No matter where the living be, The Beasts will be with them,
waiting for the unbidden calls of Mankind until the end of all.

Don't know what to (do)
make of this but I know
something is there between us (now)
all sensations and emotion
not much words (spoken) at all.

Eyes look into each other right there
both lips are sealed shut on the spot
thoughts trapped in two different minds
the bodies of one another begging for sweet release.

Waiting, just waiting for the other to admit when it's time...

He watches the long days,
go down to short nights.
Silently with little intrusions,
and gentle interventions.

Standing there frozen in place,
or hanged, but not to his death,
in the appearance of foolish and young days,
or the wizened and ancient years.

Reminding us about the things we do,
and that things and people will not last forever.

His speech is in the minimalistic music of chimes, beeps
and quiet ticks,
his language we see the arcane symbols of science.

He is there, seen or not seen at all,
slicing lives away without knowing.

We are all tied to him,
his willing and many unwilling slaves.

Not knowing we are bound to him til the end.

Standing on the Razor's Edge of life and death,
slowly fading away,
from this world.

...Waiting to go...
...and be forgotten.

Ready to go,
ready to go,
accepting my fate.

At last...

who take pleasure in voicing our discontent,
while we are waiting to be released.

We are the heartless bunch of bastards and bitches,
who think that inflicting pain is fun,
and the consumption of innocent children and their pets is okay.

We are the black clad and twisted dark popes of Hell,
with mutilations and piercings,
being the next "it thing".

We think that mutilation should count as a new art movement,
with skin as canvas, blood as paint,
flesh and entrails being a part of our gruesome masterpieces,
ready to be displayed in the pits of Hell or the next asylum.

Our music will consist of screams,
cries and sobs for symphonies,
and orchestras of suffering as we warp the worst of all your nightmares:
Cold reality.

We are the chained lunatics,
who take pleasure in voicing our discontent,
while we are waiting to be released.

We are the heartless bunch of bastards and bitches,
who think that inflicting pain is fun,
and the consumption of innocent children and their pets is okay.

We are the black clad and twisted black popes of Hell,
with mutilations and piercings,
being the next "it thing".

We think that mutilation should count as a new art movement,
with skin as canvas, blood as paint,
flesh and entrails being a part of our gruesome masterpieces,
ready to be displayed in the pits Hell or the next asylum.

Our music will consist of screams,
cries and sobs for symphonies,
and orchestras of suffering as we warp the worst of all your nightmares:
Cold reality.

Both of her slender hands were shaking uncontrollably at remembering what Steven said about being in an alleyway, a blood-spattered alleyway of all places. With shaking hands and a unsure mind, she quickly got out one of the most precious things from her own luggage. She sat on the bed and tentatively unwrapped the grass green velvet covering of The Book, gazing at the partially unwrapped dark green book with an embossing of a Chinese dragon with the wings of an angel set in sterling silver lovingly as she continued its unveiling. I feel so lost... The book she held in her hands opened by itself and as expected, wrote her exact thoughts and feelings into its pages, without the aid of a writing implement held by Ashtoreth's own hand. The elegant writing of her troubled heart and mind set in crimson flowed itself like miniature rivers of blood before drying up quickly into a shadowy intensity and nestling itself inside The Book's slightly tea-stained pages.

Where am I? I am lost.
My hands are stained with the liquid rubies of two;
myself and a stranger I do not know.
Take my seeking hand and guide me back,
to the righteous path that I have unknowingly strayed.

"I do not think you will need to--"
To her horror, the writing faded away gently before disappearing completely out of the page leaving nothing but an ominous blank. Instead of getting an immediate answer from the deep and unknown depths of The Book, she could feel something enter the room uninvited through the sudden vibration of particles around her, coupled with the sensation of feeling cold all over. The coldness lingeringly reformed into a warmth she was somehow familiar with to her sudden relief. Could it be...? Ashtoreth thought as she watched The Book move from her lap to the floor, still remaining open as it did so. She had never expected an event such as this to happen in a rather short span of time. She had no choice but to follow the tome to the center of the room as it settled on a final destination. The sterling silver dragon embossing on the green cover of The Book started to melt and move about towards the open pages of its residence before turning into a medium sized puddle the color of mercury and manifested into a shape she was very intimate with.
"--read your mind to understand your problem? Oh really now?" She bowed deeply and smiled at the caped metallic green figure before her who displayed a look of mild amusement on his normally unruffled countenance. Sadness gradually lurked in his eyes as he moved away from the open book and stood close behind his equally troubled consort and embraced her tenderly. The Master could feel the tears of his dear one touch one of his fingers. He gently brushed them away from her alice-blue eyes.
"I do not know where I am."
"You're lost?" he liked completing whatever sentence she was trying to finish without her really noticing, running his delightfully cold fingers through her unsecured black tresses.
"An acquaintance told me earlier of the night before and how I was in an alleyway not far from here, apparently involved in a fight. But I do not remember anything at all." her voice was tinged with vexation. Oh dear me, I wonder how something such as this could happen so soon? The Master thought at hearing what his highly regarded fledgling had to say. Ashtoreth remained in the comforting shelter that was her Master's arms. His neck started to become more longer and flexible, allowing him to see her face more easily as she stayed in his sights.
"What you don't remember the night before will come back to you just like everything else, all you need is time." He said reassuringly, stroking her face. Just like everything else she thought of what her Master had said. The Master felt relieved at the feeling of glumness fading away, for a while.
"I have to leave soon; this connection can't last long, you know."
"Yes, I know."
The Master unhurriedly coaxed Ashtoreth out of his near eternal hold. They both held the hands of one another and looked longingly at each other's eyes before departing.
"Farewell, my dear Master." She knelt in front of the closing book after his virtuous figure washed out of her room, the mercury liquid that projected him and made him "real" quickly returned to where it belonged as part of the cover of The Book in the form of a silver Chinese dragon embossing with angel wings.
I wish you could stay by my side for a while longer. Even if it were for a few hours, she was happy he came to assist and bring her at ease. How long has it been since the Bond Forging? Two months and a few days ago? Ashtoreth wasn't completely sure. She let all of it go for a while, trying to recollect the vague and grim event of the night before she awoke in her quarters in Carlston University; already, she had already recalled one thing she had once remembered! She gathered up the green book and hugged it tightly before wrapping the precious and invaluable object with the green velvet cover and carefully shoving it back into the depths of her luggage before anyone, friend or stranger, came in the room.

that's how I am,
knowing its my fault for being like this,
not yours.

I feel the chains digging in.
Digging in, digging.

The pain; so memorable now that I dare look back,
even though I know it's supposed to hurt.

Strapped to my Liar's Chair,
to make a confession of what I've done;
my own lies of silk bring me pleasure,
at saying more untruths,
that people blithely believe.

questioning the scrap fabric memories of my past,
mixed up like a patchwork quilt.

You tell your flowing lies of silk,
as vivid as velvet and thickly detailed like corduroy.

I am your fabricated child,
from the twisted sewing machine of your deranged and cruel mind.

I was once as enchanting as satin,
decorated with tears and holes,
now tragically in tatters.

In the end, I am too torn to be mended,
I cannot be stitched back together again.

in the garden of silence,
where books move restlessly,
longing to be read.

Gently waken the sleeping rose,
nearly lost in dream-filled slumber.

Take the waking rose,
longing for the warm rays of the sun,
and take her to the land of falling snow,
with plains of shimmering crystal.

Carry her to the giant emerald tree,
where the mysterious gifts and offerings are laid.

Before these gifts can open,
words of forgiveness must be said.

Many of the gifts are opened,
all of the offerings are feasted upon,
not one left untried.

The day is past and yet the snow remains falling.
the fragile black rose sleeps once more in the garden of silence,
where nothing is heard.
But everything is seen.

all I see is a white emptiness.
I see many bleeding hearts littering the landscape, bleeding out their sorrows,
drowning themselves in the process.
As I keep walking this path of nothing, I see rusted chains and shackles,
once accompanied by bonded hands now wilting littered in the path I must walk.

I remember searching for someone to love a long time ago.
halfway through my search, I gave up,
knowing that looking for the elusive prince charming was of no use.
For both failure and reward I wander through an aimless path,
through the garden of flower bouquets tied with now frayed ribbons,
rotting away as I walk doomed to everlasting loneliness.

It breaks her heart to know that she has failed me.
It breaks my heart to hear,
"No, say it is not so!"

She inevitably welcomes the embrace of cold and shackled chains,
her once unmarked wings turning to black as she slowly falls to her knees.
"Forgive me." I hear her say as I gather up the nine blackened tails of agony and misery.

I decorate her with autographs, signs and symbols that blush of many roses,
as I magnify our symphony with the numbers of perfection and change.

The chorale that greets my ears is one of much needed redemption;
another chance that only I can give.

"The pain of it all will cleanse your mind and sharpen your thought."
I say to her at last as I put my misery machine away to be played with another day,
between us after, there is many a thing for us to say.

As the rosy wounds on her snow pale body begin to swell, she takes my hand and nears it to her lips as the crimson petals from her paleness starts to flow like nectar turned to wine.

Here, the two of them stood together in silence after the four other candidates wished the chosen mentor well and left both the girl and the sleek green skinned humanoid robot alone. You're nervous! Relax, little one. Whoever was the owner of the calm and warm voice speaking in the girl's head was right.
“I am trying.” She could feel herself shake slightly in her would-be mentor's presence, causing her to curl her right hand into a fist, letting her black lacquered nails continuously dig into the skin deeply, letting a few drops of blood fall to the white and grey streaked marble floor.
“Shall we proceed then?” the voice that spoke to her earlier was of course her mentor's own. He looked at her in such a way that it made her feel like her thoughts were being peeled and revealed, layer by layer, leaving her to be quite exposed. She nodded in acknowledgment and remained resolute. Will you accept me as your Master and complete the chosen bond between us? A smile crept on the silent girl's lips as she advanced even closer, with warm feelings that remained dormant in her heart for so long finally stirring at last. The accepted Master felt happy not only for himself, but for her as well. From nowhere, a hymn playing above the entire city could be heard as testimony of their flowering union.
Yay te, yay klayj erz,
dayt erjuuhe taev, duu zhee'eegl azhe'ee ehglr.
juhrde'e veyj vayte owglue.
The wound inflicted earlier on her palm still echoed with pain as it trickled and bled, leaving small drops and puddles of blood on the floor and invisible stains on her black dress. Knowing that it was time, she fell to one knee before her Master and held his skeletal left hand that appeared before her and brought the strangely warm hand to her rosy lips and kissed the bonding ring worn on his ring finger, completing the bond between them.
Yay Ujegl eedee ay aa ayd-ewji yayj,
yay erjuuhe azhe'ee te yew ewklow ya tee aa kleer rew ehjiee uutae,
ey ehzhrzhe azhe'ee ehzhrzoh.
A similar ring to his own appeared on the ring finger of her right hand. Her chosen Master looked at the kneeling girl and said, “You won't change your mind, will you?” He really had hoped that she wouldn't suddenly change at the last moment, fearing the opportunity he had been waiting to happen for nearly an eternity would slip away from him. If the Master had a heart of his own, it would be pounding in fear. To his surprise, the girl smiled at his question, trying to suppress the urge to laugh at her Master for being so uneasy.
Yay Ruuj uuzow tehzhee zekl owgl,
yay Ayd-ewj azhe'ee Ayd kluy zhrayr ayyee agl klehy.
Ey ayja zer glehea, ayja zer glehea.
Zhree zar aeduu...
zhree zar aeduu...
At that instant, time started to slip quietly back into the world around them, causing the dome above to be decorated with a thin film of ice and falling snow from the skies.
“No, I will not.” she replied at last. Although he dreaded her final answer, he just had to ask.
“Why?” The ring on her own finger was still glowing a bright green as she glimpsed his face and answered sincerely, “I am yours.” even though the hymn was sung to the rest of the city and the world around them, echoes of the uplifting song floated up to greet the ears of both Apprentice and Master, exiting from the crystal and silver dome above their heads. It was not until then that the Master noticed the blood-red stain on his hand.

What is despair?
It is the thing you get when everything falls apart in front of you?
Is it when you know it's over, so you drop your sword and shield and fall to your knees in surrender?
Is it when you feel a lead brick pressing on you, trying to tell you something inevitable is going to happen?
Is it when you start your tears flowing in the mirror and nothing but blackness clouds your thoughts?
Is it when everyone looks at you as if you failed something big?
Let me tell you what it is:
The bleakness
The shivering
The tears
The helplessness
The worries
The sleepless nights
The...?
...pain.. in the chest.. the cold, sharp arrows?
the dragging weights inside pulling down
into the depths, the black black depths. Never to return.
That's what it is.

I've decided to put this feedbacked poem in here just incase Achithyn wipes the site clean and installs the new one (as all AAF members have hopefully read in the announcements). So this is like a "backup" operation, if you know what I mean. New comments for this piece is also welcome!

Submission!

Here, read this:

We are looking for more people to contribute to the creation of the next issue. If you're aged between 12 and 25 and would like to become part of our team, drop us an email. Don't think your work isn't good enough to grace these pages - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We are individuals whose creative outlets are vastly different. All work has artistic merit so get sending.*

hearing those four words that chill what is left of my fragile heart and weary mind,
I feel the remains of my heart freeze and go numb,
only to feel pain spike through like the shard of ice I have become; cold and unfeeling.
My tears begin like gentle droplets of rain and flow unforgiving,
in the form of deep and glistening miniature rivers.
Through my water-blurred eyes I look at you,
as you become nothing but a haze to me now.
My dearly liked and once-loved friend,
you are easy to see and hard to get near, even if I know you well.
As you leave me like a puddle after the melting of snow,
my watery heart and mind begins to hopelessly drown into a sea of sorrow.

cold wires around me form shapes like seaweed,
the circuitry patterned metallic fish have blinking diodes in their eyes.
waves and currents of data envelop and sweep over me.

The sharp teeth changed into needles without the girl noticing.
"Now, do as I instruct: relax yourself and above all, be calm and do not panic." Marius glanced quickly at the moderately wounded Apprentice, analyzing her damage quickly.
"My, my, my. You have sustained a lot of damaged. Some of your bones are on the verge of breaking! That gives me another reason to use these surgical tentacles to repair you efficiently and quickly." Ashtoreth eyed the threatening appendages of her Nurturer.
"How long will it take?" her raven colored hair billowed in the liquid slowly, like wispy tendrils. She knew something like this will happen one day, no matter how many precautions she took whilst out on the field attending to her duties.
"Two to three hours." Marius moved two of his twenty tentacles to the back of his patient support both her bruised head and slightly damaged neck. The partly mechanized surgeon shackled the girl's arms and legs to restrict her movements. Ashtoreth felt her heartbeat escalate as the shackles binding her clicked shut in perfect unison. The pale skinned girl's eyes widened in horror as she watched the surgical implements move closer to her wounded flesh. Oh no, please... Not this! The leech-ends attached to the Nurturer's appendages closed in on her at every direction. She screamed in pain as the leeches teared their way into flesh, sinew and bone to burrow deeply into her. The blue liquid gained a light purple hue which gradually darkened as blood began to flood forth from the reopened wound.
"Please, enough!" Ashtoreth screamed for mercy. I hope her training has aided her in keeping a stiff upper lip, this operation might take more time than I would expected it to be. The more the surgeon's patient struggled, the more tighter the shackles became, already he saw that both her wrists and ankles would become bruised if it continued on. He slowed down his progress on her repairs and looked at the girl in pity.
"It is time to cleanse your bloodied wounds. Let the painful healing fire purify you within." despite the slowing of progress, the struggling girl continued her screams of pain and agony to pierce the silence of the room outside. Marius used a vacant tentacle to gently wrap around her neck from behind and sealed her mouth shut. His other limbs continued to work on damaged tissue, bone and sinew. After that was done, every wound repaired internally was tiny metal clamps and varying lengths of catgut. By the end of the gruesome and painful procedure, the weary girl was left alone to rest and dream of nothingness.

Ashtoreth was led by the hand of an Cyberian Knight back into The Womb where her severe wounds would be mended. The injured Apprentice felt drowsy and numb as the egg-shaped tank began to fill up with gooey, strange smelling blue liquid. With weary eyes, Ashtoreth looked up at Marius who resided inside on the top end of The Womb, his partly humanoid and partly squid like form lowering himself using his tentacles before her.
"That's right. Breathe slowly and calmly, in and out. Relax." Ashtoreth relaxed as instructed and let her weary eyes close themselves. A few minutes after the deep and invigorating sleep, a cold and flexible robotic tentacle gently prodded her on the shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but this must be done. Your body is quite damaged and this is the only way to repair it completely and properly." what the girl saw coming towards her made both her mind and body jolt to complete wakefulness in unison.

He suggested an idea of making a Tim Burton-esque story about a toymaker. This is just the beginning of the story.

"How many times do I have to tell you? Its not maker, not master, but father."
the little girl in front of the old but wizened toymaker shook her head in disapproval.
"Come on now. you say it: fa-ther." the toymaker said the last word slowly, hoping the red haired girl would get the idea into her head. the little girl smiled at the kind old man and said "ma-ker." and giggled. The toymaker sighed sighed wearily at his failed attempt.
"Dahlia, you are such a stubborn girl. I am afraid I have put too much determination in you."

Now restrained by the heavy spiked chains and suffering from the chains' sheer weight and bleeding from all parts of her aching body, she stubbornly showed her willingness to pass Master Skoll's draconian combat lesson. The Master of Time and Combat looked down on the pathetically weak Apprentice with her once-beautiful Victorian dress in tatters with a too-obvious displeasure at seeing the adolescent fall from grace so quickly. This is a waste of my efforts, Master Skoll thought to himself with a certain sadness.
Ashtoreth could see with tear-blurred eyes as the unforgiving Master's razor sharp attack claws sheathed themselves back one by one into knuckle dusters. The Master walked even closer towards Ashtoreth's weakened and bruised form.
"Think of the heavy chains binding you as training, little one." his very words were tainted with acid which ate away painfully at the girl's delicate ears. The poor girl's beautiful porcelain skin was marked with healing scars and bruises. Ashtoreth wished that her beloved mentor Master Brien would come immediately to her assistance. She closed her eyes eyes tightly and tried to send her cry for help in his direction.
"The world isn't as merciful you know, so this will do you a lot of good. You'll thank me for this." his lips broadened into a wide grin.

All people are welcome to comment on my Fragment posted here.

Ooo, more to critique. Always happy to read someone's work!

Your Writing:The heavy rain soaked my clothes as I ran panting and struggling against the wetness and the fierce howling night winds."D*** it!" my breath was ragged blowing warm steam into the night. My damp clothing made my movements sluggish and stupid."Having a little problem you annoying little S***? I hope you are!" the black clad figure running in front of me shouted from behind. I ignored his taunt about my running ability and sped after him across the street, the faint outline of a firearm slung on his left shoulder revealed a bigger threat than I have realized at first. My full length beige trench coat flapped lazily in the night winds. The moon offered help in its meagre source of light, showing the destination of the man now running. I kept on running towards the dead end in the end of the alleyway that I followed him into; the dead end of the alleyway the man in front of me was destined to meet. He slowed down to a lively walk towards the brick wall and stopped a few meters away from it. His back facing me."Does it really have to end soon? I was thinking that this F***ing game was getting really exciting. I was starting to enjoy the warm-up." he turned around to face me, his firearm had already found its way to my head. I smiled at my apparent victory for tonight. You're lacking a little in the punctuation department. I noticed a tense issue, maybe some conjunctions could be revised. With work, you can establish tension and make a hook that will draw your reader in.Below, I will write my "own version" of your writing. (And of course they're only suggestions.) I find this is the easiest way to fully critique someone's work.

My Writing:It was late at night. The torrential rain [I feel "torrential" better fits here, but "heavy" works and accomplishes the same thing.] soaked my clothes as I ran panting against the fury of the rain and the harsh storm that accompanied it. What a time to be out, I thought, In a rainstorm. "D***- it!" [If you're not going to use something like, "I said," it might be better to skip down to a new paragraph. As far as I know, though, your original sentence is not gramatically incorrect.]My breath was ragged, [you forgot a comma here] chugging out as warm floods of steam. As my clothing filled with water, and became heavy, my movements became sluggish and stupid. [I understand what you're saying, but the word "stupid" might make other readers stop for a moment and contemplate your mastery of vocabulary and language, which is not always something you want to happen.]"Having some trouble, you little s***?" [You forgot some commas and I've divided this up] A man clad in black running in front of me gasped. "I hope you are!"I clinched my teeth and ran faster, nearly tumbling head over heels because of my heavy, sopping clothing. He was taunting me. [What you had written originally really didn't apply to someone's "running ability."] Just because I couldn't run in the rain as fast as he could! He sped across the street and I ran after him. As he passed under a dim streetlight, I could see the outline of a firearm. So he's more of a threat, I thought.[Omit or rework your sentence about the moon and its light.]The meager light of the moon helped me find the man when he plunged into shadows and then reappeared, momentarily. I saw him run down an alley. Again, I followed him.Soon, I noticed that the alleyway led to a dead end. He slowed to a blithe trot and then stopped a few feet [feet would probably be better] His back was facing me, and he was motionless. Above, the storm increased in its ferocity. The wind was blowing so hard, it buffeted the rain right over our heads, so we were dry and protected in the alley. [I added some detail. It helps establish tension and gives the reader a better picture of the tone of the story.]"Do you really have to stop so soon?" I spat bitterly, panting, "I was beginning to f****** enjoy it. [I would take out the "F-word" but it's not necessary and it does show great agitation in your character. Still, there are other ways to be irritated.] I snorted, "I was really beginning to enjoy this little warm- up."He spun around, and the end of the firearm's barrel was jabbed into my forehead. His lips were upturned in a snarl and, in a way, he reminded me of a predator that has become the prey. I smiled for this evening victory. [I put more description in here.][How is the man with the gun feeling? You probably mention this farther in this piece, but I found myself thinking, "well gosh, why can't you just tell me now?"][I did read a little farther, and I'm interested. Please read my other little message below before I continue.]

Galwan Language

Yep, it's finally done with. I've managed to make a conlang of my own in only a few weeks. Although I think that the trickiest bit was filling in the vowel and consonant tables because I had to listen to how the vowels and consonants on the IPA table would be pronounced. Once that tedious task was done, I ran the consonants and vowels into a conlang generator.
